Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to spend some time with the residents of Lawrence Heights. Highlights of my activities in Lawrence Heights are below.
I met with members of Lawrence Heights Inter-Organizational Network (LHION) to talk about how we can work together to improve services, and support and ensure that residents’ voices are heard. Topics discussed were jobs, affordable housing and community safety.
I shared a few remarks to open the inaugural Adbi Mohamoud Memorial Basketball Tournament. Abdi was a true friend to our community, and his spirit and legacy live on in the people he mentored.
I celebrated Black History Month with the community at Hope Hustle Heights, which was a wonderful and inspirational event. I want to thank the Lawrence Heights community for their warmth and continued support.
